Rovers have confirmed that Bradley Dack has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and faces a year on the sidelines.

Dack was stretchered off with his right knee in a brace during Monday’s 0-0 draw with Wigan Athletic at Ewood Park.

The 10-goal top scorer will undergo surgery in the next 10 days before undergoing his rehabilitation, with manager Tony Mowbray not expecting the 25-year-old not feature again until the back end of 2020.

“Bradley has had his scan and as we thought he has an ACL. He will have that repaired in a week-10 days. We’ll see him around this time next year,” Mowbray said after the 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.

“(It’s a blow) for Bradley first and foremost, and for the club.

“On a day like today Bradley Dack can do something on the pitch that can take the mediocrity out of it and everyone will go ‘wow’.

“He can beat three men, play a look-away pass and then score at the back stick.

“He’s done that time and time again.

“We’re here to support him and sure that he will come back stronger and we will try and do our best in the period that he’s unavailable for us.”
