DONCASTER ROVERS – 1

ACCRINGTON STANLEY – 1

OFFRANDE Zanzala's late equaliser earned Accrington Stanley a point at the Keepmoat Stadium against Doncaster Rovers.

John Coleman's side fell behind in the second half through Jon Taylor before Zanzala came off the bench to score the leveller.

Stanley are now five games unbeaten in all competitions as they travel to Bloomfield Road to take on Blackpool on Boxing Day.

The first shot in anger came just inside 15 minutes and it was the home side who forced Joe Bursik to show why he had been given the number one shirt for the second game running.

Minutes later, Stanley drove up the other end and Joe Pritchard squared one across the face of goal, but no one was there for the tap in.

Stanley took their time to threaten the goal again, but this time it came as Callum Johnson ventured forward for the first time and his left footed cross just glanced the head of Jordan Clark at the back post.

Just after the 30 minute mark, Stanley started to play how we know they can.

The ball came across from Clark and Dion Charles couldn’t get enough on it, but Colby Bishop came flying across at the back post and he diverted wide.

Stanley were starting to rile the home fans as they began to threaten more and more as the half went on.

After starting the second half with some good possession, Stanley fell behind through Taylor.

The Reds lost the ball in their attacking third and were quickly broken on and Taylor was slipped in.

He made no mistake when finishing beyond Bursik.

With 20 minutes remaining, Sean McConville was introduced as Stanley looked to pull level in the game.

Stanley’s persistence paid off as substitute Zanzala levelled with 10 minutes to go after a goal mouth scramble following a corner. Captain Seamus Conneely was so close to winning it for his side at the death, but Seny Dieng pulled off a fine save.
