Reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after Rovers' win at Bristol City.

Christian Walton 8

Tipped an Eliasson shot around the post in the first half and didn’t put a glove wrong under the high ball to keep a first away clean sheet since August.

Ryan Nyambe 8

Couldn’t be stopped once in full flow. Is enjoying a run in the side and that is showing in his performances that are maturing by the week.

Darragh Lenihan 8

Won more headers (8) than anyone in the pitch, and really helped limit the threat of Diedhou. No surprise that his return has coincided with Rovers upturn in form.

Tosin Adarabioyo 8

One loose clearance in the first half apart, looked assured again at the back. Aggressive when he needed to be, nipping in front of Diedhou on occasions to intercept.

Amari’i Bell 8

Had a tough start up against the lively Eliasson, but grew in to the game and overlapped Bennett to good effect in the second half. Won five tackles in all.

Lewis Travis 8

Carried on where he left off at Swansea, putting in an excellent shift in the middle of the park. Didn’t allow the hosts a minute to settle in to any form of passing rhythm.

Bradley Johnson 8

A first appearance of any kind since October but took just two minutes to make his impact with a rasping drive to open the scoring. Could have had a second when shooting straight at Bentley. Got his foot in to good effect all afternoon, playing a key role in Armstrong’s goal.

Elliott Bennett 8

Offered good protection to Bell down the left who he linked up well with. The defensive winger role looked to suit him more.

Lewis Holtby 7

Showed his class with some close control, but in possession, looked for the killer ball a little too often. His quick-thinking led to the opener for Johnson.

Ben Brereton 7

Lacked confidence at times when choosing to look for a team-mate than go alone, but some neat touches to keep hold of the ball. Teed up Johnson for a chance to make it 2-0. Won several free kicks in good positions for his side.

Sam Gallagher 8

Was like two players with the amount of work he got through, working in behind and chasing back. Went close to the goal he deserved with a thumping 25-yard drive saved by Bentley.
