THE under-15s battled hard in a 24-12 defeat at Trafford MV.
The hosts scored first and then again after a fast break before Bolton’s Scott Gillibrand got his name on the scoresheet after a terrific pick-up and 50-yard run, getting the try right between the uprights before a successful conversion.
The game was put on hold for 15 minutes after one of Trafford’s players took a knock to the back of the neck and he was checked out on the pitch before being taken to hospital.
When play resumed, Trafford kept up the pressure but Bolton resisted well and it took six attempts from five yards before the hosts managed to swap sides and sneak one across the line.
Logan scored Bolton’s second try after a terrific team effort started by Callum M making big yards, and involving just about everybody on the team at some point, before the ball was muscled over the line. A tricky angle defeated Zak’s attempt to convert.
Bolton were determined to get another try but it was not to be, despite gains on the wing and while it ended in defeat, everyone played their ‘A game’.
