There is the possibility of another Rovers v Burnley final in the Lancashire Senior Cup after the semi-final draw saw them kept apart.

Both East Lancashire sides have made it through to the last four of the competition, with Rovers looking to defend the title they won in May courtesy of a 2-0 win over the Clarets.

Rovers, 18-times winners, will face a trip to Preston North End in the last four, having so far beaten Accrington Stanley and Everton to reach this stage.

Burnley meanwhile, will have to wait to learn their semi-final opponents. The Clarets will face either Morecambe and Wigan who are scheduled to meet in their quarter-final tie next month.

They beat Fleetwood Town on penalties in round one and then overcame AFC Fylde 3-1 in the last eight.

Rovers and Burnley Under-23s met at Ewood Park last week, with the hosts winning 2-1 in the Premier League, the first time the Clarets have tasted defeat this season.

They will play the return fixture at Morecambe's Globe Arena on Thursday, February 20, with Rovers already assured of their place in the knockout stages.
