Rovers will learn their FA Cup third round opponents this evening.

They will be ball number six in the draw that will take place at 7pm live on BBC Two.

The draw will be hosted by Mark Chapman, with the balls picked by Micah Richards and Tony Adams.

Ties will be played on the weekend of Saturday, January 4, with matches taking place between the Friday and the Monday.

The 20 Premier League teams and 24 Championship sides enter the draw at this stage, with 32 ties in all to be drawn.

Last season Rovers were knocked out in the third round by Newcastle United, drawing 1-1 at St James’ Park before losing the replay after extra-time at Ewood Park.

They were also knocked out in round three in 2017 by Hull City, but entered that year in round one while in League One.
