Rovers' hopes of naming an unchanged side could depend on the fitness of full back Ryan Nyambe.

The full back returned to the starting XI against Brentford having missed the Barnsley win through illness, but was forced off in the closing stages with cramp.

The Namibian trained with the squad on Friday and will be assessed before a decision is taken on his likely involvement tomorrow, with captain Elliott Bennett, who missed out on Wednesday, on standby.

Experienced pair Stewart Downing and Danny Graham, who has struggled with an ankle problem of late, are also to be assessed with a three game turnaround.

Derrick Williams (calf) is back on the training pitch, but next weekend's home game with Derby looks a more likely return date for the Republic of Ireland international.

“The players have some knocks and niggles,” boss Tony Mowbray said.

“Nyambe, we have to wait and see. He has his thigh and hamstring protected. We’ll have to decide whether we take a risk with Ryan or not.

“Derrick isn’t in contention. He hasn’t joined in with the group as yet. He’ll have to have a full training session to have any chance.

“Hopefully he will have a chance for Derby next week.

“Stewy Downing is 35, Danny Graham is 34, they put a huge workload in. We’ll have to see how their bodies are feeling because sometimes those lads don’t do all the training the other lads do.

“You have to manage footballers and try and re-fuel, top them up and ready to go again.”
