It was a day to forget for Burnley at Bramall Lane as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat on Saturday.

Nick Pope 5

Badly exposed by his defence as he conceded three goals in the first half. Saves from David McGoldrick, Billy Sharp and John Lundstram in second half.

Matt Lowton 5

Beaten down the flank for both the first and third goals as the Clarets struggled to cope with the Blades’ system. Managed to get forward more in second period.

James Tarkowski 4

Robbed my Mousset for the third goal that all but condemned the Clarets to defeat. Improvement in the second with a good block from Enda Stevens and a header saved at the other end.

Ben Mee 5

Beaten to the ball by Mousset for the opening goal and then poor pass nearly gifted him a chance to double the Blades’ advantage. Not how he wanted to mark 300 games for the club.

Erik Pieters 4

Caught inside for both of Lundstram’s goals, attempting to cover a stretched Clarets’ backline. Hooked at half-time on a bad day for the defence

Jeff Hendrick 5

Unable to help stem flow of attacks down his side in first half. No impact on the game in an attacking sense.

Ashley Westwood 6

Largely neat and tidy but part of a midfield that was overwhelmed. One corner led to a chance for Tarkowski in the second half.

Jack Cork 5

Couldn’t help Burnley get a foothold in the first half as it was one-way traffic. Didn’t track Lundstram for the opening goal

Dwight McNeil 4

Looked lost in truth in the opening 45 minutes as he tried to do his bit defensively against the rampant Blades. Couldn’t get into the game in the final third. Replaced just before the hour.

Ashley Barnes 5

Isolated and frustrated for long spells. Wasted a great chance at the start of the second half before sending another effort into the side netting. Booked for dissent.

Jay Rodriguez 5

Some nice touches but could have held the ball up better at times. Came close to getting on the end of a Lowton cross in the first half before sending one header wide in the second.

STAR MAN: Charlie Taylor 6

Purposeful running saw him give the Clarets an outlet down the left at times in the second half. Surely pushing for a start now ahead of Pieters.

Robbie Brady 5

Came on for the final half an hour and wasted one free-kick from a good position in the closing stages.

Matej Vydra 5

Replaced Rodriguez for the final 10 minutes and had little chance to get involved in the game.
