BURNLEY are hoping for a double injury boost ahead of Saturday night’s visit of Chelsea, but Chris Wood is a doubt.

Ashley Barnes and Jack Cork both trained yesterday, but striker Wood is touch and go after suffering a groin strain.

Barnes missed last Saturday’s defeat at Leicester City because of a tight groin, while Cork has been absent from the last two games as a result of a minor fracture to his shoulder blade.

“Barnesy and Corky have trained today,” said Clarets manager Sean Dyche at his pre-match press conference.

“Woody has a tight hamstring and we are going to have to make a judgement call on that but we will know further tomorrow. We will see if people do pull through their injuries in time.”

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (hamstring) and Danny Drinkwater (ankle) remain on the sidelines.

“Johann is still going to be a while,” said Dyche, but he was more optimistic for on-loan Chelsea midfielder Drinkwater.

“We are hoping that by next week he will be joining in with the first team so he needs that because it has been a bit of time now. The journey we have got is that he didn’t have enough football when he got here and then we just about got him close to that and he has had a period out.

“So now we have got to give him more football time as in games and it is not so easy to get those games but we can make sure we arrange enough to get him up to some kind of speed and he can at least be part of the group.”
