ACCRINGTON Stanley have been handed a home tie in the first round of the FA Cup.

The Reds will host League Two leaders Crewe Alexandra on the weekend beginning November 8.

Dave Artell’s side have made a fine start to the new campaign and currently sit two points clear at the top 14 games in.

The sides last met in the 2017-18 season, Stanley doing the double over the Alex on their way to winning the League Two title.

John Coleman will be hoping his side can match their cup exploits from last season, the Reds reaching the fourth round before a 1-0 defeat to Derby at the Wham Stadium in round four.

Elsewhere, Chorley have been handed a trip another League Two side in Mansfield Two.

Jamie Vermiglio’s men, second from bottom of the National League table, will head to the One Call Stadium to take on a side 17th in the division above them.

It is the third year in a row the Magpies will face Football League opposition in the first round, their spot sealed this year by a 2-0 win over Spennymoor in the fourth qualifying round on Saturday.

Twelve months ago they held Doncaster Rovers to a 2-2 draw at Victory Park before losing the reply 7-0.

Two years ago, they went down 2-1 to Fleetwood, also at Victory Park.

Chorley and Stanley’s first round ties will be played across the weekend of November 8 to 11.
