Bolton United will take on Euro Garages in the final of the 2019 AMT Lawyers Football Championships.
Bolton overcame Blackburn United a tense affair on the hottest day of the year.
The game only came to life in the second half.
Bolton went ahead through a penalty (Umer) before a fantastic long range effort from Aamir levelled things up. Those expecting the game to go into extra-time hadn’t banked on Sakeel making an impact. His clever shot deceived the keeper and sent Bolton into the final.
Judging the balance of play on the night this game could well have gone either way but it is Bolton who will compete in their first final since 2016. The last time they won this trophy was back in 2013.
In the first semi-final things a were little more one-sided. Euro Garages began the far stronger and went ahead through Mark Slater to make the tournaments top scorer. AFC Preston never going in this semi-final. They could nothing about the second – a sublime free-kick by Aaroon Hussain.
Euro Garages who up until this year had never won a match in this tournament now find themselves in the final.
Big thanks to Rick AFC Preston loaning us his camera for the pictures between AFC Preston and Euro Garages
