Sean Dyche knows he is getting to the business end when it comes to making decisions in his goalkeeping department.
The Clarets boss is currently balancing the pre-season minutes across his three England men – Tom Heaton, Nick Pope and Joe Hart.
But there is likely to be movement soon with Hart having been widely expected to leave before Heaton was linked with a move to Aston Villa as he enters the final year of his contract.
Hart, a £4 million arrival from Manchester City last summer, played the full 90 minutes in the win over Fleetwood on Tuesday night.
Pope had done likewise at Crewe while Heaton has had to settle for 45 minutes at Port Vale but is expected to feature more at Wigan in the Clarets’ latest friendly on Saturday.
When asked about his goalkeeping dilemma after the Fleetwood victory, Dyche said: “It has not been difficult so far but it gets more difficult when we get right to the end of pre-season because everybody will want to start looking and see who is going to play but at the moment it is fine.
“I thought Joe did really well, really safe hands, very confident performance and I was pleased with that.
“He is a top keeper.”
