Sean Dyche insists his full focus is on bringing players to Burnley despite some of his squad being linked with moves away.

Tom Heaton is among those to be attracting attention from elsewhere – the England goalkeeper a reported target for Aston Villa as he enters the final year of his contract.

But having brought in Jay Rodriguez and Erik Pieters the Clarets boss says there are no offers on the table for his players and his attention is on incoming deals.

It’s just now about getting the right players at the right price.

When asked about current bids for his players Dyche said: “No. We are always open with the players and the agents and we try to know what is going on.

“We are certainly not in a position to be selling players unless we choose to do so and we are in a position where we can hopefully buy players.

“We are never flush, I don't think the chairman is going to give me fortunes but if the right player comes along at the right level financially and it fits into what we can do and betters us and gives us more competition then that is what we want to do.”

The goalkeeping department is an area that is always in sharp focus at Turf Moor with three England internationals on the books.

The futures of Heaton and Joe Hart are the subject of plenty of speculation while Nick Pope has signed a new long-term contract having struggled with a shoulder problem last season.

“They all want to play, rightly so,” said Dyche.

“Popey had to be patient last year because he was fit and well from the end of January.

“It is a great dilemma to have, we will use them all wisely in pre-season and make sure they are all sharp.”
