THE Ribblesdale League released a statement to say Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, on appeal, had not had 12 points deducted from their total and had been reinstated in to the Ramsbottom Cup.

The statement, issued by chairman Bill Slinger, read: “At The Green Thumb Ribblesdale League Management Committee meeting in May, we were notified that Oswaldtwistle Immanuel had not completed the required documentation in relation to the registering of a player (for professional Akhil Rajput).

“After a lengthy discussion the committee proposed and it was agreed that the sanction would be imposed on Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, in that they would be fined £25.00, have 12 points deducted from their league total and would be removed from the Ramsbottom Cup thus reinstating Euxton who they had beaten in the first round.

“Oswaldtwistle Immanuel immediately stated that they would appeal against the decision and the sanctions.

“This appeal was held at the LMC meeting at Whalley.

“There was a lengthy discussion during which Oswaldtwistle Immanuel put their case in relation to the matter.

“The matter was put to a vote and by a clear majority, the appeal was upheld and all the sanctions were removed.

“As a result of this, Oswaldtwistle Immanuel will play Ribblesdale Wanderers in the quarter final of the Ramsbottom Cup (on Sunday) and the Lawrenson Cup quarter final between Burnley Belvedere and Euxton Seconds has been reversed as Euxton’s ground is now available and they had originally been drawn at home.”
