BURNLEY could be without Steven Defour for Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Liverpool with Clarets boss Sean Dyche revealing the midfielder is struggling with a knee injury.
The Belgian has a minor issue with the same knee that underwent surgery at the start of this year and is 'touch and go' to face Jurgen Klopp's men.
“His knee is just a little bit niggly. It’s nothing too serious we don’t think,” said Dyche.
“He’s just at game six (into his comeback) now and when people have been out that long it takes a bit more than that.
“I’m always thinking around that nine or 10 mark when you really get that grounded fitness and you get your eye in and get used to what’s going on again in the Premier League.
“He’s making good headway towards getting back there, but we have to be a little bit careful all the way.”
The Clarets remain without Stephen Ward and Nick Pope who are progressing well in their return to full fitness and Dyche reported a clean bill of health with the remainder of his squad.
