BLACKBURN Rovers will travel to Newcastle United in the third round of the FA Cup while Burnley host Barnsley and Accrington Stanley entertain Ipswich Town.

John Coleman's side secured their progress to round three with a 3-1 win over League Two side Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

The Reds had beaten Colchester United 1-0 in the first round last month and will now come up against former players Kayden Jackson and Janoi Donacien who left the Wham Stadium for East Anglia in the summer.

Stanley's game at Gillingham scheduled to take place on third round weekend, will have to be re-arranged.

Rovers were involved from the first round stage last season when in League One, beating Barnet and Crewe before being knocked out by Hull in round three.

This season they will travel to top flight opposition.

The Clarets, struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League, will host League One promotion chasers Barnsley at Turf Moor/

Burnley were handed the toughest draw possible last year, a trip to Manchester City, and were beaten 4-1.

The third round ties are set to be played over the weekend of Saturday, January 5.
