SEAN Dyche feels the respective runs of Burnley and Crystal Palace demonstrate how unforgiving the Premier League is.

The Clarets were riding high this time last year, but head into their 14th game without a win in six, while Palace are without a win in seven.

But Dyche feels their position does not reflect the threat the Londoners pose.

“First of all maximum respect for Roy (Hodgson) and Ray (Lewington),” he said.

“Ray I played under (at Watford) and I think so much of him, and Roy I’ve come to know over the years.

“They certainly know what they’re doing for sure. They’ve got a team with some talent, they’ve got a team that can win games and yet, I think that’s a measure of the Premier League and how tough it is. Palace haven’t found that win, we haven’t found that win, and it’s tough. It’s life in the Premier League. I’m not saying it’s a good thing but I have the experience of these type of runs and the one thing I know is that good work on the training pitch and good belief systems put into the players will enhance your chances of winning, although it doesn’t guarantee it.

“It is the challenge of the Premier League and there for all to see. It’s never easy and we have to continually focus on ourselves and what we’re doing here.”
