KYLE Jacobs scored a last gasp winner to send Ramsbottom United into the FA Trophy first round as Chris Willcock's men overcame Pickering Town 2-1 in their third qualifying round replay.

The Rams, unbeaten since Willcock took charge, took the lead when Nic Evangelinos converted Eddie Moran's lofted pass on 15 minutes but Pickering equalised from the penalty spot.

The two sides had drawn the initial tie 0-0 in Yorkshire and it looked like extra time might be required before Jacobs struck in the 89th minute.

The victory means the Rams, who hit the bar through Nialle Rodney in the first half, will visit Workington in the next round on Saturday, December 15.

Rammy now turn their attention to an Evo-Stik League West clash at home to second placed Runcorn Linnets on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Barnoldswick Town's home game with Northwich Victoria in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.

Matt Barnes' men, who have won their last five games, entertain Charnock Richard on Saturday.
