Rovers Under-23s will aim to move level with tonight’s opponents West Ham United with victory at Ewood Park.

Damien Johnson’s side have won just one of their opening 10 league matches and face a young Hammers side who sit three points better off the in the table.

Rovers are currently at the foot of the table, after promotion to Premier League 2 last season, but third-bottom West Ham are just three points better off.

Johnson’s side, beaten in the Premier League Cup by Everton last time out, will likely be boosted by the return of striker Joe Nuttall who has been around the first team scene in recent weeks.

There could be a more experienced look to tonight’s line-up with the possible involvement of central defender Paul Downing, while Lewis Travis, not involved at Preston on Saturday, could also feature.
