OUR Rovers jurors give their answers to this week's question: Would you be happy to see Corry Evans sign a new deal and what have you made of his start to the season

Paul Yates

ALL Championship teams need a ‘Corry Evans’ given the nature of the league and style of play, so I would be happy to see his deal extended.

He may not have the silky skills of some ball-playing midfielders but what he lacks in class he makes up for in commitment and attitude.

He is feisty and assertive. His consistency and ability to stamp his authority on a game can sometimes be questioned but then his colleagues too have a role to play.

He’s an international on merit and this speaks volumes about his status in the game.

Kelvin Wilkins

OVER the course of the season most players hit form for a spell. Corry Evans was our stand-out performer for the first handful of games.

Since then he has performed well but hasn’t impacted games as he initially did.

His general form and improvements under Tony Mowbray have been very good; he’s proven his fitness, looked increasingly sharp and changed many negative perceptions into positive ones. I would reward him with a new contract (possibly with a goal bonus).

Tom Schofield

CORRY has had a brilliant start to the season, but in the past I’ve been one of his biggest critics.

I feel he hasn’t lived up to expectations he has set whilst playing for his country, for a chunk of his Rovers career, and even though he has been injured quite a bit, I expected more.

This season he’s shown why he’s well thought of in the Northern Ireland set up though.

I would be happy to see him sign a new deal, but do feel that the middle of midfield is a place we need to strengthen, if we are to view ourselves as play-off chasers in the coming seasons.
