RAMSBOTTOM United bid to maintain their fine form when they host Yaxley in an FA Trophy second qualifying round reply tonight.

The Rams are unbeaten since Chris Willcock took charge and Saturday’s win over Colwyn Bay saw them climb to fourth in the table.

And they could set up a weekend trip to Pickering Town with a win over Southern League Division One Central side Yaxley tonight (8pm).

The two sides drew 2-2 in the first meeting a week ago and Willcock’s men will be confident of progressing given their recent form.

Victory would earn the Rams £4,000 with another win on Saturday in Pickering, a side who play at the same level as Rammy and are currently mid-table in the Evo-Stik East, a further £5,000.

The third qualifying round takes place on Saturday with National League North side Chorley also in action when they travel to league rivals Stockport County.

Elsewhere tonight, Nelson entertain Avro in the Hallmark Security League First Division North while tomorrow AFC Darwen entertain Steeton.

The Salmoners are currently 10th, level on points with Steeton.

Nelson, meanwhile, are struggling at the wrong end of the table and are three points above the relegation zone in 15th.

Meanwhile, Clitheroe have secured the services of Max Hazeldine on a new contract.

The former Stanley trainee has agreed a new deal with the Evo-Stik West Blues who were beaten 2-1 by Runcorn Linnets on Saturday.
