BLACKBURN Hawks look to continue their good run of form as they face two league games this weekend.

Following seven defeats in a row, the Hawks have won their last four matches in all competitions, including their last three league matches.

Player coach Steve Duncombe says: "Before these games we sat down and the plan was to go on a good run. We felt we had it in us to do it and that is exactly what we have done."

Last Saturday saw the Blackburn side travel to third in the league Solway Sharks and come away 7-3 winners.

Sunday's match had the Hawks win 6-1 at home to Sutton Sting.

Duncombe says the Hawks are definitely on the right track after their bad run of form: "We're definitely pulling in the right direction now, as a team we've felt good recently and now we're turning in the results to prove that."

The Hawks face the toughest test on Saturday as they travel to top of the league Sheffield Steeldogs. Sheffield have won all 10 of their matches.

"It's always good to play Sheffield as I'm from there. Our games against them are always close and our confidence is high so I'm expecting another close encounter," added Duncombe.

They then host Solihull Barons as they look to move above Sunday's opponents.

The Hawks manager sees this as the game to win at the weekend: "Sheffield will be hard. Realistically I'm looking to get the points on Sunday to go level with Solihull and then use our five games in hand to start climbing up the league."

Following their good run of form, the Blackburn outfit are looking for a top four finish: "The top three all came down from the league above, so if we broke in to that I'd be delighted. Top four or five is my aim for this season though and then we can build on that."

Blackburn's home game against Solihull Barons kicks off at 5:30pm.
