Tony Mowbray spoke of his frustration after Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw by Rotherham United at Ewood Park.

Bradley Dack scored his 10th goal of the season with 10 minutes to play after Michael Smith handed the visitors a shock lead four minutes earlier.

Rovers dominated the second half and were denied on countless times by visiting goalkeeper Marek Rodak.

After Dack’s leveller Rovers had good opportunities to snatch a late winner, but had to do with a point to take in to the international break.

Mowbray said: “Frustration is probably the main word.

“I think we struggled a bit with their directness and long throws and we didn’t deal very well with the second balls in the first half.

“We managed to resolve that at half time and played how we want to play.

“The second half was as good in possession and creating chances as we have been this season.

“There’s a real frustration that we weren’t able to score more than one goal.

“A real frustration with the officials that they allowed the time wasting to roll on and on and they only put five minutes up.

“But they are just little moans from me because the frustration is still in my belly.

“There was a lot of good play, good individual play, got in to a lot of good areas, created chances but it wasn’t to be.

“They went and scored from their only shot on target.

“It’s football. They have been to the Riverside recently and got a 0-0, at Preston they drew 1-1, they are very honest, hardworking, together football team and we have to respect that as they got another point on the road.”

Rovers were without both Charlie Mulgrew (ribs) and Derrick Williams (hamstring) because of injury and neither player will now link-up with their respective national teams.

Harrison Reed was forced off at half time with a knee injury, but all three are expected to be fit when the Championship campaign resumes at Preston North End on November 24.

But on only ending with a point, Mowbray added: “I thought we controlled the game, got it wide, Adam Armstrong had a hot day today and we are ultimately disappointed we could only get one point.

“We are left frustrated. I thought we could have scored again, they were hanging again.

“We had the chances to score again, but it wasn’t to be.”
