Midfielder Harrison Reed says Danny Graham leads from the front for Rovers and brings much more to the team than simply his goals and hold-up play.

Graham was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw at West Brom in which Reed scored a fine equaliser to earn Rovers a point.

The 33-year-old striker is expected to return to the starting line-up against QPR today, with Tony Mowbray having gone without a recognised striker against the Baggies.

And Southampton loanee Reed says his return will be a boost.

“Danny is an integral part of our group,” Reed said.

“He’s experienced, he tells us on the pitch what to do and has a real big feel for the game and how we should play.

“He was a big loss last week but the lads that came in did really well. Danny won’t play every week, and the lads that came in made a big claim to start the next game.”

Rovers avoided suffering consecutive defeats for the first time in 18 months when they bounced back from a 3-1 loss at Swansea with a point at The Hawthorns.

That was the third of a tough run of fixtures in the space of seven days, but there will now be an expectation on Rovers to pick up results in upcoming home games against QPR and Rotherham.

Reed added: “You want to go in to every game trying to win.

“We got the three points against Leeds, we had a disappointing second half against Swansea and it was important not to go back-to-back losses.

“We came away from the game very happy with the result in the end, especially with the circumstances, being 1-0 down at half time, finishing with 10 men, but showing the character we have within the group to get level.”
