‘Plucky and determined’ was the assessment of Rovers from West Brom boss Darren Moore.

But he was very much of the opinion that his side deserved more than the one point they got.

The points were shared after Harrison Reed’s second half curling effort cancelled out Craig Dawson’s header five minutes before the break.

Rovers finished the game with midfielder Richie Smallwood in goal, and a man down, after an injury to David Raya, having also lost Charlie Mulgrew and Jack Rodwell to injuries in the opening hour.

"Based on the chances we had and the way the game went we should have won the game but it's something to build on," said Moore.

"It's been a tough week so I'm pleased to come out of the game with a point.

"We wanted to win the game make no mistake. Blackburn were bitty, plucky, and determined.

"But from our point of view, it's a point and we get a rare week to really work with the team and build on top of that on some of the things that have eluded us recently."

Even despite a midfielder in goal, Rovers were able to protect their goal with some excellent blocks.

"We had some chances but they had bodies in front of goal, sheer numbers, so credit to them," said the Baggies boss.

"We had three or four chances but they got the blocks in.

"We tried to go and win the game but it eluded us really. Our thoughts go with David who sustained a terrible injury to his nose. We'll find out later how he's getting on.

"I said to the boys downstairs, even though we wanted to win the game, we came out with a point and it allows us to build on something for the week and we'll move on to the next game on Saturday."

Moore was full of praise for Rovers’ equaliser, scoring by Reed from 25 yards, beating the outstretched hand of Sam Johnstone.

"It was a spectacular goal, it was some goal from the boy," said Moore.

"If teams are going to score against us, let it be a goal like that because it was an incredible finish.

"He struck it very well, when you see goals whistle in like that you give him praise.

"Other than that they didn't really have many chances, but he's pulled out a sublime finish from 25 yards and it's gone in the back of the net.

"We had some chances to go and win the game but they were determined, plucky and got bodies in the way."
