Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 1-1 draw at West Brom.

David Raya 7

A big save to deny Rodriguez in the first half, but may have come for the corner from which West Brom scored. Suffered a horrific injury late on.

Elliott Bennett 8

Was a contender to go in goal, but his energy was needed on the right where he battled away throughout.

Jack Rodwell 7

Unfortunate to go off a time when Rovers are short of defenders. Did okay, with some composed defending while on the pitch.

Charlie Mulgrew 6

A big blow for Rovers, when after bravely winning the ball, sustained an injury which meant he couldn’t continue.

Derrick Williams 8

An excellent block late on, and marshalled a makeshift back four late on. A let off in the first half when his slip let Rodriguez in.

Harrison Reed 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Exceptional display of battling midfield qualities topped off with a fine curling effort to bring Rovers level. Thundered in to challenges in the second half and should have won a first half penalty for handball.

Richie Smallwood 8

Heroics in goal late on after taking the gloves. Worked hard in midfield before that, seeing plenty of the ball, but fortunate to see one loose pass not see West Brom take the lead.

Craig Conway 8

Was all over the pitch, starting centrally before finishing up at left wing-back. Took up some good positions and kept Rovers moving.

Kasey Palmer 7

His best game in a Rovers shirt, according to his manager, and went close with an effort early in the second half. Unfortunate to be substituted.

Joe Rothwell 7

Had an excellent chance in a first half in which he carried the greatest threat for Rovers. Stuck to his defensive duties well in the second half.

Bradley Dack 7

One moment of quality to slide in Rothwell in the first half and went close with a second half free kick. Battled away out of position.

Subs

Amari’i Bell (for Mulgrew, 15) 7

Beaten in the air for the West Brom goal, but did well thereafter with some good play down the left.

Lewis Travis (for Rodwell, 58) 7

Mowbray showed confidence in him to come on at centre half and made one excellent block on the line.

Adam Armstrong (for Palmer, 67) 6

Ended up as the first line of defence as Rovers tried to hold out for a point.

Unused subs: Jayson Leutwiler, Corry Evans, Ben Brereton, Danny Graham
