YOUNGSTERS were out in force at the annual Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Primary Schools Cross Country Championship.
A total of 26 teams from Hyndburn and 17 from the Ribble Valley took part in the event that was once again held at Wilsons Playing Fields in Clayton-le-Moors.
Each team consisted of up to six girls and six boys, the top four girl/boy runners scoring points for their school.
Peel Park were crowned overall Hyndburn winners with the Ribble Valley title going to St Leonard’s Langho.
The top 25 runners in each race have been selected to run in the East Lancashire county final at Townley Park in June.
Stacey Roscoe, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley assistant school games organiser, said: “I would like to thank all the individuals that helped this event run smoothly. Prior to the event starting, we had lots of setting up to do with the help from the volunteers from Hyndburn Athletics Club, Moorland students, St Christopher’s leaders and marshalling the event Accrington Academy leaders.”
