ROBBIE Brady and Ben Gibson both came through 90 minutes for a strong Burnley U23s side as the young Clarets hit six against Sheffield United on Monday.

Tinashe Chadwana scored four for the Clarets as Gibson made his return from injury and Brady continued to step up his comeback.

The pair were joined by goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard as the three over-age players in the starting XI with Dan Agyei and Mark Howarth also on target.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill and assistant Roy Keane were in the stands at Curzon Ashton's Tameside Stadium to watch Brady with the winger impressing.

But it was Chakwana, who turned 20 last week, who stole the show.

He opened the scoring when he tucked home Josh Benson's cross and added a second nine minutes before the break.

The frontman completed his hat-trick early in the second half before Agyei headed home Brady's free-kick to make it four.

Chakwana reached four for the afternoon when he finished Ali Koiki's cross before substitute Howarth completed the scoring in the final minute as Burnley made it back to back home wins.

Burnley: Lindegaard, Cropper, Younger, Gibson, Koiki, Brady, Goodridge (Bayode 80), Benson (Howarth HT), McNeil, Agyei, Chakwana (Harker 73). Subs not used: McMahon, Glennon.
