Jacob Davenport will make his injury comeback for Rovers Under-23s in tomorrow night's Premier League 2 game at Brighton.

The summer signing has suffered with two separate injuries since signing a four year deal in June and is yet to make a matchday squad.

The 19-year-old will get some game-time for Damien Johnson's side tomorrow (7pm) after training with the first-team squad during the international break.

Mowbray has been impressed with the former Manchester City man's ability on the Brockhall training pitches, and hopes Davenport can now start to demonstrate that in competitive matches.

The boss said of Davenport: “He got on the bus off to Brighton so he will be playing tomorrow night.

“He’s hopefully on his route back to the first-team squad.

“He’s had a tough start to his career here injury wise, he’s a very talented player and has been out there for the last 10 days with us and not short at all.

“He’s very composed with the ball, tenacious, snappy with his passing and I’m looking forward to getting him back up to speed.

“Whether that’s with a couple of games for the Under-23s, or a week or two training, we will wait and see.

“It’s important for the boy that he gets started soon and hopefully tomorrow night is the starting spot for him.”
