EWOOD Park concourses will be fitted with contactless machines during the November international break.

Rovers are working on updates around the stadium, and their off field operations, which has seen them introduce a new online ticketing system.

Chief executive Steve Waggott has been keen to enhance the matchday experience for Ewood fans, with cutting waiting times at refreshments stalls around the ground one objective.

Waggott is hoping to see Ewood attendances rise with more than 20,000 expected for this weekend’s match with Leeds United.

The Rovers CEO knows that performances and results are key to encouraging people to come through the turnstiles, but on the latest off field improvements he said: “We have had all of the new access and data systems in.

“We have got the latest version of Ticketmaster, something that has been used at Manchester City. That’s all been done.

“We’ve refurbished all of Blues Bar and the next step during the next international break in November is to put in a whole range of contactless machines across the stadium.

“That’s why we need the supporters back, we can service them quicker, sell quicker, but the biggest pull of them all is the team and the 90 minutes on the pitch.

“The performances the players are putting in, win, lose or draw, you could never angle any criticism in terms of commitment and endeavour.

“There’s a lot of people around the country who would love that above anything else, because it can be a rare commodity in football.”
