ACCRINGTON Stanley's strength in depth is making it increasingly difficult to pick seven substitutes, let alone a starting XI, according to manager John Coleman.

The Reds boss historically does not often tinker with his line-up, or make many changes during games.

But he says he is having to try to find a way of keeping as many people happy as possible.

Against Bradford City on Saturday Luke Charman was in line for his first appearance since completing a loan move from Newcastle United on the August deadline day, but in the end Coleman opted to keep Billy Kee on.

His decision paid off, with Stanley securing a 3-1 win over the Bantams. But the Stanley chief admits the balancing act is a challenge.

“I’ve got a really strong squad here. It’s difficult to pick the bench, let alone pick the 11," said Coleman.

“I got Luke Charman stripped towards the end (on Saturday) and was going to put in on, but then I thought Billy's normally the master at seeing the game out, so I left him on.

"Luke will be disappointed, but he’ll get his chance, he’s been excellent in training as they all have."

Offrande Zanzala was rewarded for some impressive recent performances by earning his fourth League One start, and repaid his manager's backing by scoring his fourth goal in four games.

“He can be a handful for any defence in this league. He’s very unpredictable but he’s game, he’s willing to learn, he takes things on board that we try to say and he’s playing with good players," said Coleman.

“We’ve got willing runners and people who work hard, we’ve also got players who can keep their head and pass the ball, and there’s no-one better in that situation coming in off the left on his right foot than Sean McConville.

“He should score more goals to be honest. He could have had the matchball, he was very unlucky with a couple of efforts but thankfully one of them went in."
