LEEDS United fans will fill the whole of the Darwen End this weekend after selling 7,650 away tickets for the Ewood Park fixture.

Rovers announced in May that season tickets would not be available in the Darwen end after securing promotion back to the Championship.

The club apologised to fans but said it was to avoid constant disruption due to the expectation of greater demand from away fans.

More than 20,000 fans are expected on Saturday for the match in total.

We asked Rovers fans what they thought about the huge away crowd...

I'm not quite sure what the issue is here. Wasn't it done regularly when Rovers were in the Premier League?

Should Rovers have turned down some of the 7,500 fans from Leeds so as to allow empty spaces at Ewood as is usually the case.

If we were disadvantaging home fans by doing this then it would be controversial. But Rovers are still a long way from filling the stadium and struggled to do so at the height of their past successes.

The club has to exploit every financial opportunity it can in today's market and they appear to be doing so.

I think it makes perfect sense to give Leeds United the whole of the Darwen End.

With roles reversed if we had the demand for extra seats at an away fixture, and there were seats available, we'd surely find it ridiculous that they weren't made available for us.

It will be a tough fixture and a strong away following will add to that, but essentially the game isn't won in the stands but on the pitch.

It’s the fans that make the football, as evident by their absence at the England v Croatia game, so why begrudge ticket buying supporters the opportunity to support their team whilst bringing more money into the club and adding to the atmosphere?

FROM a financial point of view it makes sound business sense especially when the game is on 'live' TV and it's a non-standard kick off time. Whatever people say the game is all about finance, especially with our financial position.

Since we have gained promotion from the lower division our home support attendance figures have not significantly increased so there isn't much of an argument to keep the Darwen End split between Rovers and Leeds fans.

From a Rovers fan point of view however it's annoying that Leeds will have that kind of support behind them as it may well spur them on.

We all know from our away games last season that having a large and loud backing like we did at such places including Walsall, MK Dons and Rochdale it almost gave you a goal start in a way.

However, on the last two occasions that a football league side brought a full away following in the Darwen End, Newcastle United and Aston Villa in the season before last, Rovers won both games 1-0.

A repeat scoreline on Saturday will be fine by me.
