IT was disappointing to go through a weekend with two defeats, especially when we had chances to win both games.

We lost the cup game at Solway on Saturday night 5-3 but we were 1-1 heading into the final period and against Whitley Bay in the league on Sunday we were 2-1 up going into the final period but lost 4-2.

We need to keep our concentration for 60 minutes and if we do that then we have a good chance of winning more games than we lose.

The goals we conceded were at key times and just killed the momentum a little bit.

We are playing well in patches but little moments when we switch off are costing us and those fine margins are crucial in hockey.

The good thing is that we have two league games to look forward to this weekend and an immediate chance to bounce back.

We go to Solihull on Saturday which is never an easy trip and then host Nottingham Lions on Sunday.

If we can come out of that with a four point weekend then things will be looking a lot brighter.

We want to win every game we play but you can have a bad weekend and we just have to make sure we put it right now and keep ourselves in contention for the top four.

I also want to praise Adam Barnes who is with us on a two-way from Manchester Storm and has been great for us in recent weeks.

He scored twice against Whitley Bay and, for a young player, is playing some really good hockey and long may that continue.
