COLNE secured an impressive Evo-Stik West victory over Kendal Town on Tuesday night.

Steve Cunningham's side. enjoying a good start to the season, were 4-1 winners in Cumbria.

Alex Curran netted a first half brace for the Reds before Brad Lynch made it three after the break. Kendal did pull one back but there was still time for substitute Matthew Morgan to add a late fourth for the visitors.

The three points see Colne in seventh place in the table.

Jerome Wright struck a second half equaliser for Ramsbottom United as they drew 1-1 away at Widnes Town.

In the West Riding Cup, Barnoldswick Town secured a place in the second round with a 2-0 home success over Silsden.

Goals from Marc Young and Shaun Airey either side of the break booked Barlick’s progress.

Meanwhile, AFC Darwen host Daisy Hill in the Hallmark Security League First Division North on Wednesday looking to get back to winning ways.

The Salmoners are without a victory in four matches but will see this as a chance to bounce back against bottom of the table Daisy Hill who are yet to win this term.

On Thursday, Bacup host AFC Blackpool. Bacup, who won their last match against Steeton, sit in 14th place and face a side who are 10th but boast the best defence in the league having conceded just nine goals.
