JAMES Tarkowski has been included in the England squad for a Nations League double header with Croatia and Spain.

The Clarets centre back has kept his place with the Three Lions, despite struggling this week with a minor groin injury.

Tarkowski won his second England cap during the last international break, playing in the friendly win over Switzerland.

The 25-year-old limped out of last week's win at Cardiff City and will require a fitness check before Saturday's Premier League clash with Huddersfield and before he heads to St George's Park to join up with England.

"Gareth and his staff are aware that he’s had a minor situation that we’re hoping will settle down, but he’s not definitely clear," Dyche said.

"Gareth wanted to make it clear he’s one he thinks of. He’s trained on the grass today and we’ll know more tomorrow.

“James continues to improve and raise his performance levels.

“We had a tricky start to the season but he has certainly kept going strong, along with Ben Mee.

“I think Tarky deserves to be called up again and we’re hopeful he will be involved."
