CHORLEY fighter Michael Jennings says he's delighted that he will be back in the ring sooner rather than later after being forced out of tonight's fight through illness.
The WBU welterweight champ was due to face Vladimir Khodokovski in a non-title bout at Preston's Guild Hall but, after picking up a chest infection, was forced to pull out after missing three days training.
But the bill has been put back until Friday, September 28, and Jennings admitted he was delighted to be getting the chance to go back into the ring.
He said; "I was absolutely gutted not to be fighting this weekend but I'm really grateful to the promoter, Wally Dixon, for postponing the bill.
"I'm really buzzing about having the fight re-arranged so soon and I can't wait.
"I feel fit enough to fight but because I've missed a couple of days training they thought it best that I pull out."
All tickets bought for tonight's show will be valid for September 28.
