Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 3-2 win at Stoke City.
David Raya 8
One terrific save late on to keep out Crouch’s header. Could do nothing about either of Stoke’s two goals.
Ryan Nyambe 7
Untroubled by Diouf in the first half but given more problems by Etebo after the break.
Darragh Lenihan 7
Had dealt with everything sent his way prior to the final 10 minutes where he was panicked in to conceding a late penalty.
Derrick Williams 7
Defended well to see off the threat of Afobe, including five interceptions, but the introduction of Crouch and Berahino brought a nervousness to the Rovers defence.
Amari’i Bell 7
Was enjoying a solid afternoon, doing well to contain the lively Ince, but missed his clearance allowing the winger to make it 3-2.
Elliott Bennett 8
Terrific pass to free Graham for his goal and had a role in the third with an excellent pass. Typified the workrate off the ball.
Richie Smallwood 7
Good tackle to deny Ince early on and was tenacious in his work throughout. Picked the pass which led to Dack's opener.
Corry Evans 8
Protected his back four with some excellent blocks in either half and was able to help Rovers press all over the park.
Harrison Reed 8
Took his goal calmly on his first start and picked up some nice possessions in attack, as well as giving Nyambe good protection.
Bradley Dack 8
Stuck away one chance on his left foot and played in Reed for his goal with a square ball. Would have had a second were it not for a Butland save and hitting the post with the follow-up.
Danny Graham 8 (MAN OF THE MATCH)
Is proving his worth to this team with his best performance of the season. Gave Rovers a platform from which to play off and looks as fit as he has done in a Rovers shirt allowing him to press from the front. A third game in a week, but a big performance, including an excellently taken goal to make it 2-0.
Subs
Joe Rothwell (for Harrison Reed, 80) 5
Ben Brereton (for Danny Graham, 84) 5
Adam Armstrong (for Bradley Dack, 84) 5
Subs not used: Jayson Leutwiler, Paul Downing, Lewis Travis, Kasey Palmer
