BURNLEY have got their 'rhythm' back over the last two weeks following their European exit, according to boss Sean Dyche.

The Clarets have had a hectic start to the campaign thanks to their Europa League exertions and they've already played 10 competitive games this season, at least double their Premier League rivals.

Having played on six successive Thursday nights during the qualifying phase Dyche said Burnley's schedule had been a tough one, but since their exit to Olympiakos in the play-off round the Clarets are now back into the schedule they coped so well with last season, with only domestic distractions left.

"There's a rhythm in how you work, this couple of weeks has been more familiar," Dyche said of the international break.

"With Europe it’s games, recovery, pre-plan a game and then start all over again, you can’t fit a debrief in sometimes. You're getting home at 6am and the next day you have to recover and pre-plan.

"I said to the lads it’s a restart because it’s been so different for us. If you’re familiar to Europe and how it works that’s different, for us it was new, something different.

"To work our way through that and come out the end it is slightly a restart, we had that break."

One change has Dyche called for following his first taste of the Europa League is the rescheduling of away games after long European trips.

The fixture list wasn't kind to the Clarets in this regard this summer as they followed games in Istanbul and Athens on Friday nights with fixtures at Southampton and Fulham less than 72 hours later.

Dyche believes the issues associated with a quick turnaround could be alleviated by moving those away games to a Monday night.

"One possible change in the future could be that game becomes a night game, you get a further sleep in the afternoon, that’s not possible at 1pm or 3pm," he said.

"I don’t think it’s that easy, it’s a Sunday game and there will be certain slots. You could consider a Monday game, a bit more recovery.

"It’s the away games I’m talking about, they’re tough. The home game is a bit more simplistic. Monday night is mainly TV but for specific games it could be the Monday.

"The afternoon gives you another window of recovery. That extra bit of recovery does count."

Burnley will look to get their Premier League campaign back on track on Sunday with a trip to Wolves.

Dyche has been impressed with their early season form and believes it can be a difficult campaign to face a newly promoted side.

"They’ve done very well. They invested wisely last season, added to that but kept a core this summer," he said.

"They look a good outfit to me, a good mixture of real talented players, some pace and they’ve defended well.

"It’s another strong side that has come up and invested so it's another challenge.

"They’re still new to it and it is different, the more games you play the novelty aspect can wear off. It’s hard playing these teams early but as the season grows it can be different, sometimes you can view it as a tough time to play these teams because there’s really excited by it."
