Billy Kee says Accrington Stanley are still finding their feet in League One but is confident the goals, and wins, will come.

The newly promoted Reds are unbeaten in six games but have had to come back from behind in their last five to maintain it.

Stanley flew out of the traps in their last two home games but were unable to convert chances into goals and had to rely on late equalisers against Scunthorpe United and Burton Albion.

But Kee, who levelled against former club Brewers on Saturday, feels they can take heart from their performances and powers of recovery and feels a big win is on the horizon.

“We’re still trying to find our feet in League One and every game is difficult, but the lads are showing great spirit like we did last year. We’re staying in there,” said the striker.

“I know we’re scoring late but sooner or later things will change and our chances will go in and we’ll go and win by three or four.

“We’ve just got to stick at it and all work hard together as a unit and everything will be alright. We’ll win a lot more than we lose this year.”

A Scott Fraser strike handed the Brewers an 11th minute lead before Kee levelled from the spot with just six minutes left.

Of Saturday’s comeback Kee added: “There wasn’t really a lot happening in the second half but I think everyone in the ground knew we were going to get back in the game one way or another and in the end we could have gone and won it. We can compete against these teams and we’ve shown it.

“I know Burton Albion have come up through the leagues with us but they were in the Championship last year and their wage bill is about £5million.

“We’re not far off where we want to be. Sooner or later things we’ll change and we’ll win games.

“I know our home form’s got to be a lot better and it will be.”

Of his personal form, Kee says he is still recovering from a foot injury.

“It’s set me back about four weeks. I had it all pre-season but I had injections and I was able to run around again so hopefully I can do a lot more work with Jimmy (Bell) and John Doolan and get a bit fitter and sharper and I’ll be firing again,” he said.

“I’ve not been playing the best and I still need to get better. But it’s always nice to get a goal, it puts your confidence back up there.”
