Charlie Mulgrew is expected to feature for Scotland when they host Albania in their first UEFA Nations League match tonight.

The Rovers skipper started Friday’s friendly with Belgium who ran out 4-0 winners.

He played in the centre of a back three and was substituted in the 68th minute as he made his 37th appearance for his country.

Corry Evans meanwhile was surprisingly not used by Northern Ireland for their defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday as they were beaten 2-1.

The 28-year-old, who was enjoyed an impressive start to the season, will hope to earn his 47th cap when Michael O’Neill’s side host Israel tomorrow.

New signing Ben Brereton also wasn’t used as England Under-20s beat Switzerland 2-0 at St George’s Park last week.

Rovers’ new signing will be hoping to win his first cap at that level when they travel to Holland tonight (6pm).

Elsewhere, Sam Hart made his debut for Rochdale on Saturday after joining on a season-long loan last month.

The left-back, who is still to make a league start for Rovers, finished last season with the Spotland club

His first appearance in his second spell came in Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Scunthorpe United where he played the full game and picked up a yellow card.

He had a hand in Rochdale's first goal, Oliver Rathbone turning the ball in after his free-kick was saved, as the visitors battled back from 2-0 down to earn a point.

Academy duo Lewis Thompson and Lewis Mansell made their debuts for National League North side FC United of Manchester.

The pair signed on Friday on a month long deal and were part of the side who drew 1-1 with Southport.

Full-back Thompson played the full 90 minutes and claimed an assist, while striker Mansell played all but the final six minutes.

Midfielder Lewis Hardcastle made his Port Vale debut, and first senior appearance, when starting in last week’s defeat to Newport.

But he was left out of the side for the trip to Forest Green Rovers, coming off the bench for the final three minutes as the game ended 1-1.

In League One, Matty Platt wasn’t involved in the matchday 18 for Accrington Stanley as they drew 1-1 with Burton Albion.

He has made just one appearance for the Reds so far, that being a 6-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Mansfield Town.

Meanwhile, Scott Wharton hasn’t featured for Lincoln City since August 14 and was an unused substitute as the League Two leaders surprisingly lost 1-0 to Crawley Town on Saturday.
