CLARETS reporter Tyrone Marshall hands out the ratings from Burnley's Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Turf Moor.

Joe Hart 8 (Man of the Match)

Could maybe come for cross for first goal, but kept Burnley alive with a string of fine saves, including from Pogba’s penalty

Phil Bardsley 6

A surprise inclusion and found life tough against Sanchez, who set the first goal up and enjoyed plenty of space to attack.

James Tarkowski 6

Lukaku gave both central defenders a tough time, winning the physical battle and finding space to run into

Ben Mee 6

Lost Lukaku for the first goal. Made one brilliant recovery tackle late in the second half after Lukaku had rounded Hart

Charlie Taylor 6

Has earned his chance at left-back and had a much quieter afternoon than Bardsley. Flicked initial block goalwards for second goal

Aaron Lennon 6

Grew into the game as it went on and tested Shaw when United were down to 10, but Burnley’s attacking threat was limited

Ashley Westwood 6

Unfortunate role in the second goal but midfield was dominated by United and struggled to impose himself on the game

Jack Cork 6

Struggled with the physicality of Pogba, Matic and Fellaini as United bossed the midfield battle, especially in the first half

Dwight McNeil 7

Another bright showing from the 18-yeard-old. Twice took on shots from distance and didn’t look overawed

Jeff Hendrick 5

Restored to that No. 10 role and looked a shadow of the player who had impressed on Thursday night.

Chris Wood 5

Got no change from Lindelof and Smalling. Unhappy at the physical treatment he got but hold-up play was poor.

Sam Vokes for Hendrick (58)
Ashley Barnes for McNeil (80)
Matej Vydra for Wood (84)
