BURNLEY have just 17 outfield players available for the Europa League third qualifying round first leg clash with Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Clarets trained at the Fatih Terim Stadium on Wednesday night ahead of Thursday's tie with the Turkish Super Lig side and afterwards Sean Dyche revealed his squad are stretched to the limit at the moment.

Chris Wood hasn't travelled due to a reaction to a bite, while Aaron Lennon is also battling a tight hamstring and Steven Defour (calf) and Robbie Brady (hamstring) remain on the treatment table.

"We’re a little bit limited. Chris Wood has had to stay behind, he has an infection from a bite and it has caused a reaction," said Dyche.

"We’ll have a few decisions to make. Aaron Lennon came off with a tight hamstring last week, so we’ll wait and see.

"Robbie is making good progress, as Steven is but he’s behind Robbie at the moment.

"We’re down to what’s here, which is 17 players."

New boys Joe Hart and Ben Gibson have travelled and are part of the UEFA registered squad, and Dyche added: "They’ve travelled for a reason - to be included if needed."

One factor that may not be too bad for the Clarets on Thursday is the heat. Dyche's side trained at 9pm local time, the same time the game will kick-off, and the temperature from a fiercely hot day had cooled considerably.

"It’s not too bad. It was really warm here today, it’s still a good temperature but the players are used to that, with an evening game I don’t think it will be as bad," said Dyche.
