BURLEY have completed the signing of goalkeeper Joe Hart for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old joins the Clarets on an initial two-year deal and the Lancashire Telegraph understands there is the option of a third.

Hart, who moves from Manchester City, bolsters the Turf goalkeeping ranks following Nick Pope's shoulder injury.

Tom Heaton is currently recovering from a slight calf injury while Anders Lindegaard played against Aberdeen in the Europa League last week.

Hart spent more than a decade at the Eithad Stadium after joining the club from Shrewsbury Town in 2006.

He helped City win the title in 2014 and also won the FA Cup in 2011 and helped the club to two successes in the League Cup.

Hart – capped 75 times by England after making his debut in 2008 and a Champions League semi-finalist in 2016 – has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Torino and West Ham to keep playing first-team football.

And he now joins the Clarets as the club’s second summer signing. He will wear squad number 20.
