Tony Mowbray is looking to finish off a positive transfer window for Rovers ahead of Thursday's first deadline.

Teams have until 5pm on Thursday to make permanent signings, though EFL clubs can bring players in on loan until August 31.

Mowbray has so far made four signings, the latest being the capture of Adam Armstrong on a four year deal from Newcastle United, adding to Kasey Palmer, Jacob Davenport and Joe Rothwell.

The boss is still eyeing at least three more recruits before the end of the month, including a new striker to provide competition to Danny Graham.

Mowbray has been keen not to lose the strong spirit of the Rovers dressing room by bringing in too many new players, but adding quality to his group is his priority.

He said: “For me we need to try and make it a good window and I think after a few windows this team will have changed identity, but as long as we keep the spirit and togetherness, we’ll be fine.

“That’s the secret really, to add bits of quality around the spirit of the team and that’s what we’ll be looking to do the next couple of windows."

Meanwhile, Rovers transfer target Patrick Bauer has taken to social media to comment on his future.

Rovers have seen a bid turned down for the 25-year-old German who is in to the final 12 months of his deal at The Valley.

The League One side are said to be holding out for £2m for the defender - with the clubs well apart in their valuations.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has said Bauer is not for sale and the club were preparing to offer him a new deal.

But writing on his personal Twitter, page Bauer said: “I just wanted to take this opportunity to clear up some confusion regards my future at Charlton Athletic Football Club.

“As long as I am wearing the Charlton shirt I will give my everything for you Addicks and the Football Club to be as successful as possible.

“Nevertheless I have not been offered a new contract, and would not extend my current contract which terminates in 2019 with Charlton Athletic FC.”

Bauer played the full 90 minutes of Charlton’s opening day defeat at Sunderland.
