CLARETS reporter Tyrone Marshall hands out the ratings for Burnley's 3-1 win over Aberdeen in the Europa League second qualifying round second leg tie.

Anders Lindegaard 7

Made a couple of crucial saves from Graeme Shinnie either side of half-time and looked composed on his first start for the club

Matt Lowton 6

A couple of dangerous deliveries into the box but tested by both Mackay-Steven and McGinn when they ran at him

James Tarkowski 7

Much improved against the physical threat of Cosgrove and won some crucial headers

Ben Mee 7

Read the game very well, did the defensive work smartly, but can be sharper on the ball against teams sitting deep

Stephen Ward 6

Didn’t really happen for him going forward. Solid defensively, but fortunate not to be booked for foul on Mackay-Steven

Johann Berg Gudmundsson 8

Continues to be Burnley’s brightest spark at the moment. Tested Lewis with a half-volley and looked confident

Ashley Westwood 8

Gave absolutely everything for 105 minutes. Pass over the top for Wood’s first goal perhaps the best we’ve seen from him

Jack Cork 8 (Man of the Match)

Continues to pop up with these headed goals. Made the run at the right time to get on the end of Taylor’s cross and glance home the crucial second. Helped create first by winning the ball in midfield, something he did time and time again

Aaron Lennon 5

Didn’t get anywhere near as much as joy as he did a week ago. Struggled to get into the game

Sam Vokes 7

Worked hard as a foil to Wood and then combined well with Barnes at times, winning plenty of headers

Chris Wood 6

Took his goal well with a fine first touch but undid some of that good work with poor defensive header for equaliser

Ashley Barnes for Wood (46) 7

Introduced due to Wood’s injury and made an impact with the penalty. Helped Burnley improve

Dwight McNeil for Lennon (87)

Charlie Taylor for Ward (90)

Jeff Hendrick for Westwood (106)
