ASHLEY Barnes and Steven Defour will miss out on Burnley's pre-season friendly with Preston North End tonight as they continue to battle minor injuries.

Barnes has been struggling with blisters and Defour has a tight calf, problems which have kept them out of both of the Clarets' double headers last week.

While neither will feature at Deepdale Dyche is yet to decide how he will line his side up against the Championship outfit.

"The good thing is they’ve got the two 90s, they’ve locked that in now, so we’ll make a decision on what sort of team we’re putting out for what reasons," the Clarets chief said.

"We’ll get our heads around that. We’re probably not going to play 90s, even the players that I consider will play at Aberdeen we’ll probably be cautious with.

"They will be some who play a good part of the game."

Burnley enjoyed a positive Friday night with victories at Curzon Ashton and Macclesfield Town, but face a stiffer test tonight.

"The main thing for me is the mindset and the physical side of things, to make sure we’re getting players fit," said Dyche.

"In pre-season all managers want their players to come through fit and we’re not going to lose sight of the fact that the Premier League is coming as well. It’s three weeks away, you do forget that sometimes.

"These lads are getting fit quite quickly, normally this would be midway through pre-season."
