RACER Phil Blackmore is preparing for the first real test of his newly-acquired Derby Phoenix Champion at Snetterton this weekend - providing he can fix it in time.
Blackmore is hoping to take part in the ACU Club two-hour endurance race but is busy fixing his new charge after a mishap during testing in Anglesea.
Despite the rain, Blackmore completed eight laps of his first test and, in the time trial, came 13 out of 40 riders.
Then on Sunday, his bike broke down after the timing chain came off.
But no major damage was caused and he hopes to give the bike a thorough work-out this weekend.
