BURNLEY picked up their eighth win in 10 outings this season as they brushed Nelson aside at a baking Turf Moor yesterday.

Despite the best efforts of Nelson opener, David Crotty who scored an excellent 77, the visitors were bowled out for 181 with Cole Hayman claiming 3-41.

In reply, Burnley sealed victory by four wickets with six overs to spare thanks to Qasim Shah top scoring with 70.

Champions Clitheroe were beaten by leaders Walsden.

Walsden scored 244-8 with Fawad Alam claiming 5-66. In reply, Clitheroe fell 67 runs short as they were bowled out for 177.

In the Hyndburn derby, Great Harwood enjoyed the bragging rights over Rishton with Ashen Silva scoring and unbeaten 107 with Russ Whalley hitting 81 not out in a 321-4 total.

Lowerhouse enjoyed a mighty 239 run victory over Colne at The Horsfield with Ockert Erasmus (106) and Francois Haasbroek (118no) both scoring centuries in a 320-8 total.

Colne were then skittled out for 81 with Toqir Hussain claiming 5-21.

Accrington sealed a 15-run win over Rawtenstall. Batting first, Accrington closed on 164-9 with professional Janith Vimukthi (45) and Kieren Grimshaw (43) the leading scorers.

Despite a solid reply, with opener Imran Abid scoring 64, Rawenstall were bowled out for 149.

Title-chasing Ramsbottom won by 10 wickets at Bacup thanks to unbeaten knocks by JJ Fielding (51) and Thomas Parton (62).

Earlier, Fielding had taken 4-25 as Bacup were bowled out for 121.

Darwen also remain in the title hunt thanks to victory at Littleborough.

The home side batted first and were bowled out for 105 with professional Calvin Savage (3-23) and David Bowden (3-11) the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Darwen reached their target for the loss of seven wickets with Reece Davies (27), Savage (36) and John Cordingley (20) getting the bulk of the runs.

Todmorden professional K Pawar hit an unbeaten 106 to help seal an eight wicket win against Middleton.

The visitors were bowled out for 166 with Pawar and Matthew Collins both claiming three wickets before Todmorden sealed victory for the loss of just two wickets.

n Todmorden beat Ramsbottom by three runs in their rearrange Worlsey Cup quarter final clash on Saturday to book a place in the semi finals.
