Rovers have confirmed their second piece of summer business with Craig Conway extending his stay at the club.

Conway has agreed a new one year deal which will see his time at Ewood Park run in to a fifth year, with the option for a further 12 months also included.

The 33-year-old had been in talks since Rovers published their retained list last month and follows Danny Graham in committing his future to the club.

The deals present a boost to boss Tony Mowbray who was keen to keep two of his most experienced players on board ahead of Rovers’ return to the Championship.

Both have signed one year deals to take in the 2018/19 season with Rovers now looking to kick on with deals for prospective new signings.

Injury restricted Conway to just 28 appearances, and two goals, during the course of the 2017/18 season, statistics both he and Mowbray will be looking to improve next season.

However, the boss has praised Conway’s workrate on the pitch and his influence in the dressing room, while he has experienced at Championship levels after four years at that level with Rovers and two with former club Cardiff.

The winger has clocked up 174 appearances for Rovers, scoring 20 goals in all.

He netted seven times during Rovers’ last season in the Championship in 2016/17 and featured in 13 of the 15 matches in which Mowbray took charge of when four of his goals came.
