THE quarter finals of the Ramsbottom Cup has been drawn following the completion of the group stages.

Ribblesdale League champions Settle will play last season’s Cup runners-up Read with the remainder of the draw seeing Euxton host Ribblesdale Wanderers, Baxenden play Padiham and Oswaldtwistle take on Salesbury.

Matches to be played on Sunday June 17 with a reserve date of Sunday, June 24.

Euxton finished top of Group One following victory over Brinscall.

Batting first they got off to a good start with Andrew Winrow (33) sharing an opening partnership of 90 with Waqar Rafique who went on to make 102 off 82 balls including 18 fours.

He received good support from Oliver Marsden who made 49 not out off 55 deliveries as Euxton closed on 223-8

Brinscall got off to poor start and their cause was not helped by top scorer Sehan Weerasinghe being run out for 43. Matt Hunt scored a late 28 but Brinscall finished well short on 151-7.

In the other group game, Salesbury beat Cherry Tree to finish on five points with Settle but it was Settle who went through having won the head to head between the two sides.

In Group Two, Baxenden were up against Feniscowles knowing victory would mean they would top the table.

Abrar Hamed got them off to a good start with 51 and then Matt Griffin chipped in with 42 - but it was Alex Coleman with 91 not out in only 57 deliveries - including 10 fours and four sixes - that took the game away from Feniscowles. Jacob Johnson with 39 enabled Baxenden to post an imposing total of 261-6.

Despite 34 from opener Zuhaib Zaman, Feniscowles never looked like overhauling the massive target and were bowled out for 135. Gary Sudworth (3-25) and Sam Lord (3-38) doing most of the damage.

In the other group game, Barnoldswick made an impressive 256-7 but despite a valiant bid by Earby they were dismissed for 226.

In Group Three, Oswaldtwistle played Ribblesdale Wanderers in the clash of the top two.

Ribblesdale batted first and were bowled out for a disappointing 88 - Mack Spencer (24) and Christian Collinge (21) making the only significant contributions.

The main damage was done by Shubham Khajuria who too 5-9 in his overs.

In reply, Oswaldtwistle were struggling at 17-2 and 32-3. However any thoughts of a Wanderers win were very quickly dimissed thanks to an unbeaten fourth wicket partnership of 57 between Oliver Clare (18 no) and Daniel Metcalf (39 no) to seal victory.

Padiham played Stacksteads knowing only a victory would give them the chance of qualifying for the quarter finals - and they did just that thanks to a fine century from Nathan Whitehead.

Padiham were struggling when Ellis Hussey took three quick wickets but a fourth wicket partnership between Owen Deakin-Pickard (50) and Whitehead - who hit a 68 ball century - took the game away from Stacksteads.

Toby Burrows (5-19) and Bailey Muldoon (4-13) then helped dismiss Stacksteads for 110.
